PowerBee Solar Powered Phone Charger : Excellent!
I bought this a couple of years ago on someone's advice who had been given one of these by one of your directors. Anyway it's amazing, it does exactly as its supposed to. I ever left it on a windowsill for the winter and it still had plenty of charge, on a window that only gets a couple of hours sunlight! During the summer months a can run my phone on nothing but solar, no problem. Good work on the R & D. I have just ordered a PowerPanel to go with it. Thank You
Portable Phone Charger : An important part of my mobile device kit
As a private hire driver I use a mobile device for data transfer from my controller, to supply my GPS position, and use the internet to get the data I need, such as latest flight arrival information. All this uses a lot of battery charge, so on days when it is not possible to keep the battery charged from the car the Powerbee is a vital power source that keeps me working.
Portable Phone Charger : Great piece of kit!!,
Bought this as a present for a friend who has a smart phone - always run out of battery. He has been using it for a couple of months now and cannot recommend it enough! On dull days you can charge it from the computer via usb, on sunny days just pop it in the sun. Charges just about any make of phone, mp3 player etc.
Portable Phone Charger : Great product for the price,
I ordered this product after searching for a portable solar charger for some time. I'll admit that I bought this one based solely on the low price compared with other similar products and it arrived extremely quickly.
Opening the box I was surprised by how light the charger is and was impressed with the large number of plug adapters it comes with. In addition the case for it seems decent quality and should certainly help to keep it protected. The device also comes with 4 removable suction cups that attach to the back and I presume are designed for dashboard charging, although not owning a car, I haven't really found a use for then yet.
In terms of performance, the internal battery seems to hold a very reasonable charge and is certainly useful topping up gadgets out and about. I found it fully capable of charging my iPhone from 25% to 100%, although I have no idea how much charge it had left over after doing this.
The solar panel works as well as can be expected here in the UK, even on a bright summer day, it will take more than a full day sat in the sun to completely charge it. Placing the charger indoors, behind glass will increase this time further. Reading online reviews, this seems to be in line with similar (more expensive) products and so I think people just need to remember that a device this small can't perform miracles in climates such as the UK.
In terms of improvements, I wish the device had a better battery indicator instead of just a light for 'charging', and a light for 'fully charged'. Other portable battery chargers that I own incorporate 4 lights, that show the approximate amount of charge remaining.
Overall I am very happy with my purchase, especially considering the price. I haven't yet used it while camping or traveling abroad (the scenarios I had in mind when purchasing), but for greener, around the house charging and as a backup emergency battery for my phone, it has more than met my expectations.
PowerBee Solar Charger : Excellent solar charger
Having just come back from a motorcycle tour across France and Spain, I can wholeheartedly recommend this charger.
I relied on it alone to keep my phone charged. The charger can be charged via USB beforehand, which gave me about 3/4 of a full charge on my iPhone 4. Then using the power of the sun I was able to keep on charging my phone and keep it above 80% most of the time.
The charger itself isn't very big, very close to the size of my iPhone 4, I even noticed that my iPhone 4 fits snugly in the case provided with the solar charger. It also feels light and weighs less than my phone. So it's perfect for anyone who likes to travels light, backpacking, motorcycle touring or whatever.
The charger comes with a load of different attachments, charging cables and a case. I was able to fit the charger, with the charging cable and iPhone attachment into the case which is good.
When the charger is being charged via the sun, there is a LED which glows brighter when the sunlight is stronger (and glows dimmer when charging in cloudy daylight). And another LED indicates that whatever you are charging is being charged.
It's nicely designed and well built. I accidentally left mine out in some light rain (not recommended), dropped it a few times and took it through a dusty desert and it still works fine. The only problem I've had with this charger is occasionally when I connect my phone to be charged, the connector doesn't connect properly and I have to jiggle it about for a few seconds until it the LED comes on, but this is only really a minor flaw.
So all in all this is a great product, and it's especially useful for people tend to travel or camp without having access to electricity.
PowerBee Solar Charger : Magic!,
I don't understand why not everyone in the Mediterranean countries doesn't have one of these? Maybe not always useful in the UK but where the sun shines... great stuff! And the great thing is that you charge the actual battery of the charger and then that's what chargers the desired product. So if its sunny on Monday but cloudy on Tuesday...guess what? you can still charge your phone on the Tuesday!
And it really does have EVERY single one of the adaptors you can imagine!
Great great stuff! Let's help our planet!
PowerBee Solar Charger : Excellent item to complement your phone, MP3 etc
(My husband was so impressed with the first one we bought, with the facility to charge our phones, MP3 and especially my Kindle. (An excellent mix if connectors are provided) The USB facility to boost charge when there is no sun is also good, allowing the battery to store energy for charging a phone etc any time of the night. The carry pack is excellent and fits in the glove compartment, as required, or when on holiday is hardly any weight to carry in a shoulder bag or similar. In conclusion my husband and I, plus my best friend to whom I bought the second one for are delighted, its certainly not "a gadget" to be tucked in a drawer, its an integral part of items for us when at home or travelling.) PowerBee Solar Charger : An excellent little bit of kit
I bought this charger to keep my iPhone 4 up and running whilst at a festival recently and I can't recommend it highly enough.
I charged it via USB before I left home and - in conjunction with the Sun (which was rare for the festival I go to!) - my phone remained at around 74% charge over the four and a half days I was away.
The charger comes in a neat little pouch which is capable of holding the charger and all of the attachments and cables it is supplied with. All together, it is a very lightweight and compact package.
There are two LED's indicating when the charger is being charged by the Sun and when it is charging your chosen device. The intensity of the LED reflects how bright the Sun is and consequently, how much power it is absorbing.
It is recommended not to get the device wet so I sealed the PowerBee in a clear plastic bag and left it outside the tent to catch the Sun and it worked fine.
All in all, and excellent bit of kit and ideal for people who need to maintain their electronic devices whilst travelling but don't always have access to mains electricity.
PowerBee Solar Phone Charger : iPhone 3GS
I needed a way of charging my iPhone 3GS while away camping.
None of the reviews where for this model so i phoned the seller. They conformed it would work so I ordered it.
It only took 2 days to arrive using 1st class postage which is a great service.
I plugged the solar charger into my PC using the USB cable provided and after 4 hours it was fully charged.
Once charged I used the iPhone adaptor and connected the iPhone to the solar charger. To my surprise it worked and started charging. In just 1 hour with the phone switched off it charged 20%. I have now switched it on and it is still charging the phone but slightly slower. Its good to know that it does charge with the phone switched off as there is no way of knowing this until you switch it on again.
While its charging the phone i have left the solar charger by the window and it this is also charging the Li-ion cells. It is also good to know that the LED that indicates the solar charger is charging lights up even without sunlight, just normal cloudy weather.
PowerBee Solar Phone Charger : Brilliant little charger!

PowerBee Solar Phone Charger : Fantastic Charger
This great little charger only weighs in at 130g so will be perfect for the several days lasting hiking trips. Charges perfectly and does what the box says. Plenty of adapters for really every gadget, the pouch looks durable and works well
PowerBee Solar Phone Charger : Well worth the money
I got one of these to charge up my phone while i'm camping and have been testing it out this week.
Using this i've been able to extend my phones uptime from 24 to 102 hours.
Well worth the money.
