Perfect Pond ® Solar Oxygenator with Battery Backup Buy Direct and Save

Buy Perfect Pond ® Solar Oxygenator Air Pump with Battery Backup, Oxygenates Pond Water for Longer, Brushless Air Pump for Medium Ponds, Fantastic for Fish
Our New Air Pump with Battery Backup is designed for pond owners who have medium ponds, or small ponds that have quite a few fish, and need more oxygen output for Longer

Pump Oxygen for Longer with a Battery Backup

A larger 4 Watt Grade A polycrystaline solar panel combined with the latest Li-Fe, 6.4V, 1500mAh battery backup, ensures that oxygen is pumped for Longer, even during light cloud cover, and on sunny days after sun down.
The average running time on a sunny day in the UK is 16.5 hours per day. From a fully charged battery the unit can run for 8.5 hours with no solar input.

On our latest version the solar panel now has an adjuster to tilt the panel back & forth, and also comes with a wall mounting kit so can be fixed in the ground with the stake or mounted on a wall.

The Rechargeable Battery Backup is charged Via the Solar Panel but can also be charged via mains during winter if needed.
For large pond sizes, more units can be purchased.

We have kept the design as simple as possible which ensures that our solar air pump is a very reliable, but an amazingly powerful little unit
Every bit as good as our best selling single stone solar oxygenator but double the power, this oxygenates medium ponds, or small ponds that have a few fish.

This summer take it easy and stop worrying about your fish and plants, this solid little pond oxygenator literally breathes life in to your pond and keeps it healthy
Over the years we have sold many different designs of solar pond oxygenators, many we found to be unreliable, our theory was, if we keep the design as simple as possible, then when customers have larger ponds, they simply buy more units, rather than over complicating the design.

This has worked wonders for the perfect pond Oxygenator, the design is literally as simple as we can make it, but the components are really high quality, so there are far fewer parts that can fail, that's how we have been able to keep the cost down and sell a super powerful reliable solar oxygenator.

Installation Guide for Solar Oxygenator with Battery Backup:

1. Unpack the Components:

  • Open the package and carefully remove all components. Ensure that all parts, including the solar panel, oxygenator body, spike, wall-mounting plugs, air stones and cables, are present and undamaged.

2. Identify Components:

  • Familiarize yourself with the main components: the solar panel, oxygenator body, spike, wall-mounting plugs, and the cable between the solar panel and the pump.

3. Choose Installation Location:

  • Select a location for your solar oxygenator. Choose a spot that receives ample sunlight for the solar panel. Ensure it's not in direct sunlight, and if wall-mounting, ensure it is secure and receives optimal sunlight exposure.

4. Mounting the Solar Panel:

  • If ground mounting, insert the spike firmly into the ground, positioning it at an angle that maximizes sunlight exposure. If wall-mounting, use the provided plugs and secure the solar panel to the chosen wall. Ensure the solar panel is positioned to receive direct sunlight.

5. Place the Oxygenator Body:

  • Position the oxygenator body beside the pond, ideally beneath some foliage to provide shade and prevent excessive heat buildup. Do not place the body directly in the pond. Ensure there is proper ventilation around the oxygenator.

6. Avoid Excessive Heat:

  • Keep the oxygenator body in a cool place, preferably not on a hot surface like a rock. Adequate ventilation is essential to prevent overheating. The body of the oxygenator should be left in open air and never covered, as this can overheat the pump and cause damage; these units are weatherproof, not waterproof, meaning they can be left outside but should not be submerged.

7. Connect the Solar Panel and Pump:

  • Connect the cable from the solar panel to the oxygenator pump. Ensure a secure connection. The cable length is three meters, but if needed, consider purchasing additional extension cables separately.

8. Cable Management:

  • Securely manage the cable, ensuring it is not a tripping hazard and is protected from damage. Consider using cable clips or ties to secure it along a wall or the ground.

9. Turn On the Oxygenator:

  • Turn on the solar oxygenator and observe the pump's operation. It should start drawing air and creating bubbles in the water.

10. Regular Monitoring:

  • Periodically check the oxygenator for proper operation. Clean the solar panel surface to maximize sunlight absorption. Ensure the oxygenator body is not covered or obstructed.

11. Optional Extension Cables:

  • If the provided cable length is insufficient, extension cables can be purchased separately. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines when using extension cables to maintain optimal performance.

12. Enjoy the Aeration:

  • Once installed and operational, the solar oxygenator will continuously aerate the pond, promoting a healthy aquatic environment.

Note: Always follow the specific instructions provided by the manufacturer in the product manual. Consider safety precautions and ensure the installation complies with any local regulations or guidelines.

The body of the oxygenator should be left in open air and never covered, as this can overheat the pump and cause damage; these units are weatherproof, not waterproof, meaning they can be left outside but should not be submerged.

A Solar Oxygenator with Battery Backup is designed to provide aeration to ponds, ensuring a healthy environment for aquatic life. Here's how it generally works:

  1. Solar Panel:

    • The system is equipped with a solar panel that captures sunlight and converts it into electrical energy. This solar panel is made of polycrystalline photovoltaic cells with a high efficiency (>20%).
  2. Mounting Options:

    • The solar panel can be mounted either on a wall or placed on the ground. This flexibility allows users to choose the most suitable location that receives maximum sunlight exposure.
  3. Battery Backup:

    • The solar oxygenator features a built-in rechargeable battery. This battery serves as an energy storage unit, storing excess energy generated by the solar panel during sunny periods. The battery is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (Li-Fe) for its reliability and long cycle life.
  4. Brushless Pump:

    • The oxygenator incorporates a brushless pump. Brushless pumps are known for their efficiency, reliability, and longer lifespan compared to traditional brushed pumps. The pump is responsible for drawing air and creating bubbles in the water, facilitating oxygen transfer.
  5. Air Production:

    • The pump produces a flow of air, measured in liters per minute (LPM) or pressure units like millimeters of mercury (mmHg). This air is released into the pond, creating bubbles that increase the surface area of water exposed to air, facilitating oxygen exchange.
  6. Run Time and Charging:

    • The system operates directly from solar power during the day, using the energy generated by the solar panel to power the pump and provide aeration.
    • Excess energy is stored in the battery during sunny periods. The battery allows the system to continue operating during periods of low sunlight, such as at night or on cloudy days. The run time varies based on the battery capacity and the energy consumption of the pump.
  7. Application to Ponds:

    • Solar oxygenators are typically designed for ponds, particularly those with fish or aquatic plants. Adequate aeration is crucial for the health of fish and other aquatic organisms, as it promotes oxygen dissolution and prevents stagnation.
  8. Reliability and Autonomy:

    • The combination of solar power and battery backup makes the system reliable and capable of functioning autonomously. This is especially valuable in locations without access to grid power.

In summary, a Solar Oxygenator with Battery Backup harnesses solar energy to power a brushless pump, providing aeration to ponds. The battery backup ensures continuous operation during periods of low sunlight, contributing to the overall health of the aquatic ecosystem.
