Installation Steps

Quick Summary:

  • Unpack all components carefully.
  • Fix the solar panel on a south-facing roof or wall.
  • Run the cable into your shed.
  • Plug the cable into the main hub.
  • Position your lighting options.
  • Plug in and enjoy your new lighting system!
  1. Choose a Mounting Location

    • Pick a location for the solar panel that gets sunlight throughout the day.
    • Ensure the spot is free from obstructions like trees, shadows, or other structures.
  2. Mount the Solar Panel

    • The solar panel has an aluminum frame and can be mounted directly using screws.
    • If no fixing arm or bracket is provided, create a mounting solution (e.g., brackets or other support structures).
    • Secure the solar panel with appropriate screws and anchors. Angle it toward the sun for optimal exposure.
    • Ensure the panel is no more than 5 meters away from where you plan to install the control box.
  3. Run the Wiring

    • Connect the 5-meter wire from the solar panel to the control box.
    • Use cable clips or ties to secure the wire along its path and avoid tripping hazards.
  4. Mount the Control Box

    • Choose a secure, accessible location inside the shed or in a weatherproof area.
    • Use the screw holes on the control box to mount it to a stable surface.
    • Ensure the control box is protected from direct rain or moisture.
  5. Connect the LED Bulbs

    • Attach the 5-meter wire from the 2W LED bulb and the 3-meter wire from the 1W LED bulb to the control box.
    • Follow the instructions or wire markings to ensure correct connections.
  6. Secure the Wiring

    • Use clips or ties to secure the LED bulb wires along the interior of the shed.
    • Keep the wires organized and ensure they don’t create tripping hazards.
  7. Test the System

    • Turn on the system and check if the LED bulbs light up.
    • If they don’t, double-check all connections and ensure the solar panel is receiving enough sunlight.
  8. Adjust and Monitor

    • Monitor the performance of the system over time.
    • Clean the solar panel regularly to keep it free of debris and ensure maximum efficiency.
  9. Maintenance

    • Clean the solar panel periodically to maintain efficiency.
    • Inspect the wiring and connections regularly for signs of wear or damage.

Our solar shed light kit works as follows:

  1. Solar Panel: The monocrystalline silicon solar panel, with a rating of 5V/5.5W, captures sunlight and converts it into electrical energy.

  2. Built-in Battery: The kit includes a 3.7V 5000mAh lithium battery that stores the energy generated by the solar panel during the day.

  3. Charging: The solar panel charges the built-in battery during daylight hours. The charging time is approximately 4-6 hours, depending on sunlight conditions.

  4. Light Source: The kit uses LED bulbs as the light source. There are two bulbs: one with a power rating of 1W and another with 2W.

  5. Light Color and Temperature: The LED bulbs emit white light with a color temperature of 6500-7000K. This is a cool white light suitable for various applications.

  6. Lumen Output: Each bulb produces 150 lumens of light, contributing to the overall brightness of the shed illumination.

  7. Waterproofing: The solar panel has an IP65 waterproof rating, making it suitable for outdoor use. The LED bulbs have an IP44 waterproof rating, providing protection against splashing water. However, the control box is not waterproof.

  8. Control Box: The kit includes a control box with dimensions approximately 130 * 90 * 25mm. It contains circuitry for controlling the charging and discharging of the battery and has a button for turning the lights on and off.

  9. Wiring: The solar panel is connected to the control box, and the LED bulbs are connected to the control box as well. The wiring includes a 5m (16.4ft) wire length for the solar panel, 5m (16.4ft) wire length for the 2W bulb, and 3m (9.8ft) wire length for the 1W bulb.

  10. Output Charging Port: The control box has an output charging port with a rating of 5V 2A. This port can be used to charge external devices such as phones or other USB-powered devices.

In summary, the solar shed kit harnesses solar energy to power LED bulbs, providing illumination for sheds or other outdoor spaces. The built-in battery stores excess energy for use during periods of low sunlight, and the kit is designed with waterproof features for durability in outdoor conditions.
