A Solar Coach Lantern works by utilizing sunlight to generate electricity through its built-in solar panel.
Here's a breakdown of how it works:
1. Solar panel
The lantern is equipped with a 4 * solar panels located on the top or side of the lantern. This solar panel consists of photovoltaic (PV) cells, which convert sunlight into electrical energy.
2. Sunlight absorption
During the day, the solar panel absorbs sunlight. The PV cells within the panel contain semiconductor materials that create an electric field when exposed to sunlight.
3. Conversion of sunlight into electricity
As sunlight hits the PV cells, it excites the electrons within the cells, generating a flow of electricity. This process is known as the photovoltaic effect.
4. Charging the battery
The electricity generated by the solar panel is then transferred to a rechargeable battery, located inside the lantern. The battery stores the energy for later use, allowing the lantern to illuminate during the night or when there is insufficient sunlight.
5. Automatic lighting control
Our Solar Coach Lantern's are equipped with light sensors. These features automatically control the activation and deactivation of the lantern's light, depending on the ambient light conditions. This ensures that the lantern turns on at dusk and turns off at dawn or after a predetermined period.
6. LED lighting
Our lanterns use energy-efficient LED (Light Emitting Diode) bulbs to provide illumination. LEDs consume minimal energy, allowing the lantern to stay lit for an extended period while conserving battery power.
7. Operation and maintenance
Once the battery is fully charged, the lantern can provide illumination for the specified working time, typically 8 to 10 hours. To maintain optimal performance, it is essential to periodically clean the solar panel to remove any dirt or debris that may obstruct sunlight absorption.
By harnessing solar energy and storing it in a rechargeable battery, solar-powered Coach Lantern provide an eco-friendly and convenient lighting solution for outdoor spaces. They offer an enchanting glow while reducing reliance on traditional energy sources.
