Note: Pump and tubing sold separately

Step 1: Initial Setup

• Position your pump (sold separately) in the center of the filter box
• Connect your tubing securely to the pump outlet
• If using biological media, fill the provided nets and place around pump

Step 2: Filter Installation

• Insert all 6 foam filters into their designated slots
• Ensure proper alignment for optimal water flow
• Secure the box lid using the side clips

Step 3: Pond Placement

• Submerge filter box completely underwater
• Place on a stable, level surface
• Optional: Conceal with decorative rocks while maintaining water flow

Step 4: Power Setup

• For solar pumps: Position panel in direct sunlight
• For mains pumps: Ensure safe power connection
• Double-check all connections before activation

Final Checks

• Verify steady water flow through the system
• Check for any leaks or loose connections
• Monitor initial operation for optimal performance

Step 1: Water Enters the Filter Box

• Dirty pond water is drawn into the filter box through the pump (sold separately).
• The water enters the box from the top, ensuring proper flow through the filtration system.

Step 2: Mechanical Filtration

• The water passes through 6 foam filters that trap debris, dirt, and particles.
• This stage removes visible impurities, such as leaves, algae, and sludge, from your pond water.

Step 3: Biological Filtration (Optional)

• If you've added biological media (e.g., zeolite or gravel) inside the media nets, the water flows through these materials.
• The biological media fosters the growth of beneficial bacteria, which break down harmful toxins like ammonia and nitrites.
• This creates a healthier, balanced ecosystem for your fish and aquatic plants.

Step 4: Clean Water is Pumped Back

• Once filtered, clean water flows out of the box through the pump outlet.
• The water is oxygenated and returned to your pond, providing a clean and healthy environment for fish and plants.
• The continuous flow prevents stagnation and encourages a natural, self-sustaining pond system.

Step 5: Operation

• The filter box operates in tandem with a pump, such as the Sunspray SE 500 or SE 1000.
• The solar panel powers the pump, ensuring energy-efficient and eco-friendly operation.
• For consistent performance during cloudy weather or at night, consider pairing the solar pump with a battery backup system.
